Broadway Jr. Workshop
Ages 6-13
This special workshop offers a well-developed curriculum geared for students that yearn for training in acting, singing and dance. This special workshop is broken up into sessions where students will learn performance technique as well as perform in their own production. Curriculum is geared to prepare kids ages 6-13 to perform in Broadway musicals and builds the technical skills behind performing in musical theatre.

Musical Theatre Program (MTP)
Students attend 3 hours of weekly technique-based classes taught by our top-notch instructors in jazz dance, ballet dance, and vocal technique. In addition, rehearsals will be held outside of class time for an all-student main-stage production at the end of each semester.
Class fee is $150 per month, and includes all classes and production rehearsals as mentioned above.

Little Women
- Ages 13-20
- Students will be placed in technique classes based on skill-level and will be assigned class time
- Rehearsal schedule for end-of-semester production will be communicated to students and parents through e-mail
- Production will run May 17-25, 2013 at Brunish Hall in Portland (more information coming soon)

Best of Broadway — a Spring Musical Review
- Ages 6-13
- Students will be placed in technique classes based on skill-level and will be assigned class time
- Rehearsal schedule for end-of-semester production will be communicated to students and parents through e-mail
- “Best of Broadway” end-of-semester production is scheduled for June 7, 2013 at the Newmark Theatre in Portland
Pre-School “Music & Movement” Class
Our preschool music class will enhance your child’s development and love of music through song, dance, movement games and instruments. We will help children explore the world around them with the power of rhythm, melody, tonality and beat while nurturing key physical, social and intellectual skills.
Class fee is $85 for 6 weeks. (This class is for ages 3-5)

Individual Classes — Ages 6 to Adult
Metropolitan is pleased to offer the following individual classes for Spring 2013. Classes are held at our new location at 905 NE 68th Street in Vancouver, WA (inside Schell Dance Studio)
Vocal Technique
This class focuses on the fundamentals necessary to be an excellent singer. Featuring an in depth curriculum designed to set any vocalist up for success covering: basic music reading, breathing, placement, diction, pitch and ear training as well as how to take care of your voice. Acting
This class will teach the basic through intermediate acting principles for the stage. This curriculum will ask students to prepare monologues, scene studies, cold reading, character development and so much more.
Ballet
This class covers the basic fundamentals and foundation of classic ballet technique. It is a formal, yet fun class that provides dancers the terminology, technique and must have foundation to dance any style.
Tap
This class teaches the fundamentals of Tap dancing including shuffles, flaps, time steps as well as rhythm and timing training. Curriculum is centered around the principals of tap dancing for musical theatre and the stage. This class is offered in beginning, Intermediate and advanced levels.
Hip Hop / Jazz
This class will teach students the elements of Hip-Hop, infused with jazz technique. Hip-Hop is a cultural movement and dance genre which started in the 1970s. It encompasses elements of martial arts, body percussion and intricate locking and freezing of specific muscles, creating an exciting and fun form of dance expression.
Rep Lessons
A repertoire includes all the prepared monologues, performance numbers and vocal audition pieces that a performer needs. A repertoire also includes elements of their skill set such as their technical abilities and education. Rep lessons are designed to help students master concepts or principles of performing that the individual student may struggle with or need further assistance on. These lessons can be purchased as a package for a discounted price or as individual lessons. Please contact us by email for details or call (360) 975-1585 for available lesson times.

- Ten 30-minute Lessons…….$200
Lessons must be paid in advance and will be scheduled at the time of enrollment. If student cancels their lesson less than 24 hours in advance, student will be charged the full amount of lesson cost.
Summer Musical Theatre Workshop
Our Summer Musical Theatre Workshop offers students a safe, educational and fun alternative to sitting in front of the TV or at a babysitter. Monday through Friday, from 8:30am to 3:30pm students will rotate through specially geared classes that expose them to all the areas of the arts. Classes students will rotate through include acting, singing, jazz, ballet, tap, music theory, technical theatre, costume design, art, theatre history, stage make-up and other special workshops. A special element of this program is our booked-curriculum and highly qualified staff of educators whose goal is to enrich each students life through the arts. Students will explore all the areas of the arts and be able to focus on the areas they excel in most and work on the areas they don’t.
Students will use the talents learned in class to put together their own fully-staged production of Disney’s Alice in Wonderland, Jr. Space is limited and class size is kept down to ensure students are able to really learn. We hope that your student will join us this summer!
