Metropolitan Performing Arts Academy is a non-profit (501 (c) 3 that offers the community a complete well-rounded education in Acting, Singing, Dance, Musical Theatre, Music and Art. Our booked curriculum allows each student to realize and reach their creative potential through class placement and individualized educational plans. Students will be assessed and placed in classes that best suit their individual needs. Upon placement, the progress of your student is monitored to ensure they are continuing on their educational plan.
Not only are our students encouraged to focus on their specific areas of study, but also try out classes to see what other talents they may possess. Students will also find a balance between our technique driven classes, as well as our performance related classes. Our class description page provides for further details on what we offer and more information on classes and workshops. At the end of each semester students will receive a "jury" where parents, student and instructors meet to discuss progress, their educational plan and further placement in the program. This individualized attention allows parents to support their students and keep communication and expectations on the same page.
Every year, Metropolitan Performing Arts will produce one main-stage broadway style musical for all students to audition for. This production will be a high quality musical that will allow students to use the knowledge they have learned and get theatrical performance experience. Students will also be asked to take part in several performances throughout the community including an annual trip to New York City to perform for charity purposes. In order to take part in the performing groups students must meet a set criteria and be committed throughout a season.
